For non-english speakers: Yellowface is the practice in cinema, theatre, and television where Caucasians yellow their skin with makeup and tightly taping their eyelids to appear Asian.

One of main things a photographer learn working in Asia is that standards of skin tones in Europe and America are not corrects in Orient. In fact good photographers (as Lee Varis, for instance) have a RGB and CYMK values of skin tone designed exactly for Asian Market.
The same thing is for afro-american people in USA that have different values taht african-african people. The same question about mediterranean people white versus north-american white ones. Is the law of market. Curiosly, one of most important criteria is: healthy aspect. That curious because the same skin tone means healthy in a culture and insane in other. Good reflexion, Lasiate. (i forgot my french dictionary for this time I used English)
